Welcome to ***What the Light Remembers.***
It’s a place of photographs, places, people, and memories. Things I’ve seen, things I’ve done, and things I’ve tripped over along the way. Sometimes the photo is the memory. Sometimes the memory is the photo.
I make no promises about staying on topic.
That’s me - ***The Old Chief***, standing in front of one of our VIP birds at the downtown [Manhattan Heliport](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downtown_Manhattan_Heliport) the last day of my active duty flying before my Army retirement in September 2008. I retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 (CW4), which automatically gives me the right to refer to myself as *The Old Chief*.
After refueling at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey my good friend Chris announced over the tower frequency that I was retiring and this was my last flight in the Army. The crew of a business jet graciously congratulated me. Cheers Chris for the callout🍻.
Make a coffee or a tea or whatever your poison is (mine is an occasional bourbon here and there) and have a look around.
Mission **`TOP SECRET` - destination unknown.**
